As Spring starts getting into full swing each year, with flowers beginning to bloom and the days getting longer, something a little bit magical happens in communities all across America, and now all over the world.

Beginning in 2009, every year on the second Thursday in May, Keller Williams agents from around the world take time out of their busy work schedules to give back to their communities. KW associates rebuild homes, refurbish local parks, give to local food shelters, host blood drives, beautify beaches and so much more. Projects are chosen by each individual market center (office) based on a need they see within their community. With around 180,000 associates spread across the world, that is thousands upon thousands of hours of service taking place in hundreds of communities.

This event is an integral part of the Keller Williams culture. It displays the extraordinary impact a company can have when individuals come together to work as a team. All for the greater good of everyone. As Mark Ozman, associate with the Indianapolis/Carmel Market Center, wrote: “RED Day isn’t about cleaning up a park. It is a one-day expression of what happens 24/7 in the Keller Williams culture. It is seeing a need, discovering who can meet that need and then getting it done.”

Here at home, Keller Williams Cape Cod & the Islands' community of agents and market center leadership and staff never miss this opportunity to give back to our friends on Cape Cod. Over the last few years, we have had the pleasure of volunteering at a number of community organizations all across our great peninsula. From beach cleanups up and down the Cape, overhauling the YMCA's Camp Lyndon in Sandwich, raising over 10,000 lbs of food for local food banks, and more- we look forward to jumping into action each year for RED Day.

With COVID-19, social distancing, and business closures across the country, we are all going through a difficult time right now. We didn't want to let this get in the way of our culture of giving back and looking out for the people in our community, and like many things this year our Red Day looks a little different.

What isn't different is our commitment to Red Day and to Give Where We Live. This year we are asking for donations that we will use to buy gift cards to our local Cape Cod restaurants. We are donating all of these local gift cards to the Cape Cod Hospital Health Care providers and front-line workers.

Keller Williams Realty Cape Cod and Islands and Homestead mortgage believe in local businesses helping other local businesses as well as the health care professionals. Keller Williams Realty Cape Cod and Homestead Mortgage will be matching the donations up to $1500.

If you have the means please join us in our Virtual Red Day and donate what you can to help our local Cape Cod Community.

Check out our virtual fundraiser here: Red Day Fundraiser and help us help the business owners and community healthcare workers that we love.

From everyone at Nichole Willey & Associates and Keller Williams Cape Cod and the Islands, Thank You for all of your support over the years!
